Призван за месяц до начала ВОВ. Обучался в десантной бригаде. Участвовал с первых дней войны. С 1944 по 1945 участвовал в обороне заполярья и и награжден медалью «За оборону Советского Заполярья». После участвовал в освобождении дальнего востока от Японии.
